The holiday shopping season is upon us.
Black Friday seems to get started earlier and earlier every year.
In fact, the Black Friday deals begin on Thanksgiving.
You will find a lot of bargains, especially if you come prepared with a plan on which stores to hit first.
According to the folks at RetailMeNot, buyers need to beware of certain “so called” deals.
First up is furniture.
The reasoning is simple.
It’s all about inventory.
The best deals on furniture usually happen at the beginning of the year and late summer.
Next up is game consoles.
We’re talking about PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.
You will find bargains before Christmas, but experts say you need to wait until the last minute, including Christmas Eve, for the lowest prices.
Another hot item to stay away from this week is toys.
You will see a lot of ads for toys right now and for good reason.
The top sellers and hottest toys lists were just released.
Be patient though and wait until the first week of December because that’s when the real deals begin.
Last up is gift cards.
You will find all kinds of promotions right now for the easiest gift to give during the holidays.
Even though the deals look really good, again, be patient and wait a couple more weeks.
Restaurants will usually offer up to 25 percent off and even Apple is likely going to offer a 20 to 30 percent discount on certain gift cards.
The bottom line is this; Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
