Financial Literacy Month: Junior Achievement of Central Illinois offering scholarship essay contest

Heart of Illinois ABC is partnering with Junior Achievement of Central Illinois and Commerce Bank to promote financial literacy in the month of April.

Every Thursday of April, we will be featuring JA students who know a thing or two about money, and what they can teach other teens preparing for adult life.

As part of this awareness month, students can also apply for the 2019 Dollars Make Sense Student Scholarship sponsored by Commerce Bank. To earn the $1,000 scholarship, students in grades 9-12 have to write a 250-500 word essay. While the contest is open to students in Peoria, McLean, Tazewell, Logan, and Woodford counties, they do not have to be JA students.
