(HOI) — State Sen. Dave Koehler (D-Peoria) said upgrading U.S. Route 24 to four lanes in Fulton County is one of his top priorities this session.
“It seems like every week we hear about another tragic accident on Route 24,” he said. “I plan on working with President Cullerton and other area legislators to secure funding in a capital bill to make that road safer and put people to work.”
The highly-trafficked road is one of the main means of transportation between Peoria and Fulton counties. It has been the site of multiple fatal accidents over the past several years.
Koehler is now assistant majority leader in the Illinois Senate.
