Veterans on the Greater Peoria Honor Flight land at PIA after delays

Local veterans on the Greater Peoria Honor Flight landed around 10:24 p.m. at Peoria International Airport.

Their big welcome home comes after a lightning strike hit their plane on the way to Washington D.C. Tuesday morning. The group took a different plane home and landed about an hour late because of weather delays.

The veterans toured several monuments during their trip including the Vietnam Wall, the Korean Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the WWII Monument, and Arlington National Cemetery.
