PEORIA — A new partnership brought free popsicles to children battling disease in Peoria.
It was an effort rolled out Tuesday at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
Hy-Vee and the Jel Sert Company are offering free popsicles, freezers, and re-supply services.
It’s something Jel Sert has done at over 140 hospitals across the country.
“It’s an ongoing program,” says Elise Scheil, the store director at Hy-Vee, “So, it’s just unlimited ice pops to this hospital. It’s really a neat opportunity.”
Manufacturer Jel Sert calls the program “Take a Pop, Share a Smile.”
They’re now partnering with ten children’s hospitals across the midwest, offering free treats for kids in the hospital.
