EAST PEORIA (HOI) — The former East Peoria mayor and commissioner has been appointed to the Illinois Central College board to fill the seat vacated by Frank Mackaman.
Dave Mingus was appointed during the board’s July meeting, according to a release from the local community college, where he serves as an instructor.
He has previously served on the East Peoria Grade School Board of Education and served as the vice president of the East Peoria Community High School Board of Education. Currently, he is the CEO of Tazwood Center for Wellness.
“I have observed, firsthand, the benefits that ICC provides to this community and its residents. ICC not only prepares individuals to advance to a four-year institution, but, just as importantly, helps them develop new skills to better their standing and achieve a living wage,” said Mingus. “Illinois Central College has been very significant in my life and I appreciate the opportunity to give back.”
According to the release, Mingus has a master’s degree in counseling and human development from Bradley University, a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Eureka College and an associate degree in general education from ICC.
