Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity head start and early head start enrollment began today for preschool children.

The programs help prepare children as they transition from early childhood age to grade school.
Today was also an open house of sorts where parents could learn about other programs available to them from health and legal service to a food bank.

“We would like to offer different resources and we have Tri county urban league, we have legal information here, we have career links because as we enroll children at the same time we still want to improve families so one of the things that we do make sure that we have different vendors in order to offer families that resource,” said Charles White the Director of Head Start.

One of the features of the event was the OSF Health Care van with free medical service that travels across the City of Peoria.
