When disaster strikes, you’ll need a place to help you get back on your feet.

Threads, Hope, and Love want to be that place, but they need a little help from the community.

The non-profit is a safe haven for those in Washington who have lost it all.

The emergency service program provides people with what they need while they try to get their lives back to normal.

For almost 11-years, Threads, Hope, and Love has taken care of those in need through-out the community.

“When you lose your home, it can be the worst, most traumatic event in your entire life,” said Co-Founder Cindy Shuford, “Our emergency center takes care of people that have lost their home in fires or serious damage. We help foster families. We help homeless people who are getting their first place to live.”

Cindy Shuford said the number of people walking through the door has gone up and the supplies needed to help them are becoming more scarce.

“When the emergency center is well stock we are able to so much with it. When it’s down people can’t get the things they actually need, like crock-pot or pots and pans. They’re only allowed to come in one time for a major emergency service. So, if we don’t have it, then they are doing their best trying to find them,” said Shuford.

Shuford hopes that by getting the word about the program, the community will join in on this mission.

The list of items needed is almost endless.

Shuford adds she’s heard so many thank you’s from those who’ve received help.

“It gives them so much comfort and peace to have their own personal items. They can cook and clean and clothe their family,” said Shuford.

Items for the emergency program has to be new.
