Eureka’s Trevor Heffren put the Illinois track scene on notice this year, as he won state as a freshman in the high jump.
Heffren cleared 6’9 in the Class 2a State competition, which was one inch shy of a school record at 6’10.
“My coach had a lot of confidence in me, and his confidence gave me confidence knowing what I could do. His goal at the beginning of the year was for me to jump 6’5… then he thought I could get 6’8,” Heffren said.
Here’s more on Trevor and how he emerged as a star for the eureka hornets.
