We’re getting a late spring chill in the air today. A cold front that brough rain to the area yesterday has cleared the area and temps are much cooler. Morning lows were in the low 50s this morning. We’ll see breezy Northwest winds today, which will cause our temps to stay in the upper 60s to low 70s this afternoon. The winds will die down overnight and this will allow our temps to drop into the upper 40s by tomorrow morning. Luckily, Southerly winds will return for Friday and temps will climb into the upper 80s.
Rain showers and storms will move into the area on Friday night through Sunday. The best chance for heavy rain will be on Saturday night. By the end of the weekend, we could see between 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain across the Heart of Illinois.
Today: Sunny & Cool. Breezy Northwest winds gusting to 30 mph. Highs struggle to reach 70 degrees.
Tonight: Clear skies. Calm winds & cool. Lows in the upper 40s to near 50.
